These include Aranmanai 4 (Rs 85 crore), Garudan (Rs 65 crore), Guruvayurambala Nadayil (Rs 60 crore) Srikanth (Rs 56 crore), Turbo (Rs 45 crore) Mr and Mrs Mahi (Rs 45 crore) Kingdom of the Planet of the Apex (Rs 29 crore), Naach G Ghuma (Rs 27 crore), Star (Rs 24 crore) and Jhamkudi (Rs 24 crore).
Total box office collection of all language movies of 2024 (January-May)
According to the report of Ormax India, from January to May 2024, Indian films have earned Rs 3,791 crore at the box office. The total collection in January was Rs 934 crore, Rs 685 crore in February, Rs 1004 crore in March, Rs 460 crore in April and the total collection in May was Rs 708 crore.
Top 10 highest grossing movies at Indian box office in 2024 across all versions
The list of films that earned the most in all versions at the Indian box office in May 2024 (January-May) has also been revealed. In this, Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone’s film ‘Fighter’ is at number one with earnings of Rs 243 crore.
This is followed by Hanu-Man (Rs 240 crore), Shaitan (Rs 178 crore), Manjummel Boys (Rs 170 crore), Guntur Karam (Rs 142 crore), Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (Rs 136 crore), Aadujeevitham: The Got Life (Rs 104 crore), Aavesham (Rs 101 crore), Teri Baton Mein Aisa Ulza Jiya (Rs 99 crore) and Crew (Rs 98 crore).
Hindi films dominate domestic box office, Malayalam-Telugu at par
If we look at the domestic box office according to languages, Hindi films had the highest language share. In 2024 (January-May), Hindi films accounted for 33 per cent of the total collection, Malayalam and Telugu films accounted for 19-19 per cent, Tamil films accounted for 13 per cent, Hollywood for 9 per cent, Marathi for 3 per cent and domestic box office collections of films in other languages were 4 per cent.
